About
We are a group of gardeners of mixed abilities and talents who meet a couple of times a week to garden a large plot in Hampshire. We work with volunteers from Mencap when Covid permits, and with a few youngsters in the community.
Our approach to growing
We cannot say we're organic as that takes years to accomplish but we do try to tread lightly on the earth borrowing principles from permaculture and using sustainable practices wherever possible. For instance, we use no pesticides, make our own compost, practise 'no dig' and grow peat free.
Our Vision
We hope that our experimental practice on Pennington Community Allotment inspires others to get gardening.
We would love to see those who don't grow their own starting to do so. Above all, we hope that through our various trials, people will see that it is possible to grown peat-free and without pesticides.

Plant your own Vegetable Patch
We encourage the community to grow their own fruit and veg as well as helping us. We will also be posting ideas for activities in each month of the year.
